Apartment Description:  Superb 1,300 sq/ft apartment, owned by one of the four most respected noble families in Lazio, is sunny and delightful. It is located within an historic palazzo on a small and lovely ancient square featured in many movies, with a lovely fountain restored by Bernini.  It is a 5 minute walk to the Campo de' Fiori to pick up flowers, vegetables and spices at the morning open-air market.  Guests can stroll to the Campidoglio, Imperial Forum, Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, or across the river to enchanting Trastevere, famous for its narrow streets and cozy restaurants.

Yet, you need not cross the river to find a restaurant. One of the top restaurants in Rome, Vecchia Roma, is 2 blocks away and another favorite, Sanpietrino, is right in the palazzo building with a private entrance from the courtyard. Taxis, trams or buses are just 2 blocks away at the Piazza di Torre Argentina. 

The apartment is on the top floor of the family palazzo, built in the 16th and 17th centuries, which has a doorman and elevator and an interior courtyard where one finds quiet beauty and ancient frescoes.  Enter into the living/dining room, furnished with great taste and care. The kitchen is modern, complete with dishwasher and washing machine. A hallway leads to the main-floor king bedroom and an adjacent bathroom with tub and shower.

A unique feature of the apartment is its three separate mezzanine areas. The first, accessed by stairs (11 steps) from the kitchen, has a small single bedroom with a tiny balcony and a bathroom with shower. Two separate staircases lead up from the main hallway to the other two mezzanine areas - one with a king bedroom and bathroom with shower, the other with a double bedroom and a balcony with rooftop views. All the mezzanine areas have 6 foot ceilings, making this accommodation unsuitable for tall guests.  Rooms are air conditioned in the Summer and well heated in the winter.  For parties of up to 13 guests, there is also an additional 3 bedroom/3 bathroom apartment in same building that can be rented. 

You may also wish to take advantage of a wonderful opportunity offered by the family: a brief guided tour of the neighborhood and a welcome cocktail on the piano nobile, the "noble floor" of the palazzo. The cost of this welcome package is 200 Euro per apartment.

Minimum stay: 1 week

Booking procedure: 60% rental deposit due at time of booking, balance due 2 months prior to arrival.  As this is offered by private owner, please note payment must be made by cheque.  Security deposit of $500 requested at time of booking which is refunded after inventory is taken, minus any breakage, A/C usage and phone calls.

Holiday period:  There may be a surcharge of up to 15% added to rent during Easter and Christmas.

Arrival/Check In: Check in time is 3:00 p.m. or by appointment, check out is 10:00 a.m.  Arrivals outside of 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. has an additional 25 Euro surcharge. 

Cancellation policy: In the event of cancellation, deposit is non-refundable.  If within 2 months prior of arrival, there is no refund.  Clients are strongly recommended to ensure that they have suitable travel insurance arranged at the time of booking.
